Iran Will Acquire Manufacturing Technology of Gas Turbine

TEHRAN Plant for manufacturing of gas turbines will be commissioned in Iran in the near future.

H.E.Eng. Habibollah Bitaraf, the Minister of Energy of I.R. of Iran, announcing the news said, "Due to liability of foreign sector to construct 30 Gas Turbines in Iran this sector had no alternative but to transfer the gas turbine manufacturing technology into our country."

H.E.Eng. Bitaraf also mentioned of manufacturing of aircraft engines, large generators with high capacity and reduction of needs for foreign currency, as other advantages of constructing this factory in the country, TAVANIR's publication, **** POWER **** said.

By comparing the present situation of Iranian power industry with that of prior to the Islamic Revolution of Iran on the basis of generation and transmission technology said, "Prior to Islamic Revolution of Iran, all these tasks had to be accomplished by foreign experts where as now 85 percent of power industry equipment are manufactured within the country.
